If I am reading the service bulletin right I'd say that the early cars should have the updated gasket installed but for later cars with the second oil spray hole it isn't absolutely necessary. That said, it probably wouldn't hurt either. I'd still prefer to take the cage out since I'm not planning to remove the IP anytime soon. It would be a nuisance to have to put it back in to remove the IP but with the basket out you obviously get better oil to the Vacuum Pump. If you leave the basket in then it probably is a good idea to use the revised gasket.
