Little Clip and Windshield Question.
OK, It's not a blown motor, busted turbo, slipping transmission (yet) but I am looking for a rather small part for the old beast, an 83 300D. The driver's side and passenger side mirrors have chrome plated plastic things covering the attaching screws. These plastic things pop into a hole that has a small metal clip to hold them in place. I was able to get new plastic things from Performance Products but can't find a source for the tiny clips. Anyone know where I could find these things?
The windshield gasket is leaking and I'd like to just do a temporary repair. I've seen of some Pematex stuff mentioned here that might work. I am looking for a thinish flowing sealant that I can inject between the gasket and the windshield along the bottom on the outside to help seal this up a little better. Any recomendations on what might work ok for this application? Thanks for all your advise. Car is really starting to shape up :-) |

For that kind of tiny detail item you need to go to the dealer or, if you have one nearby, a junkyard. In a pinch, I'd even consider trying to fabricate something that would hold it in place, or as a last resort, contact cement.
