Junk Yard MB
I found a 1981 126 in my local junk yard hidden away deep in the weeds!!! WOW what a surprise. All most everything intact. Missing the hood and some parts that have already been grabbed. One question......would like to get the power antenna and sunroof motor and mechanism but the trunk is locked. Tail light lenses are removed and I can reach in and almost feel the latch. Is there someway to reach in and unlock it without having the key?? Don't want to damage the trunk lid, there is no rust of dents in it. Who knows, may need it someday.

I once jimmied a trunk open on a 123 junker, just to get at the roadside warning triangle, which was in perfect shape. However, that particular car was well-plundered, and destroying the trunk was no loss...
If you can almost reach the locking mechanism by hand, perhaps a skillfully-wielded pair of needlenose pliers would help.

There is an emergency trunk release cable at the front (kinda under) of the rear seat cushion, driver's side. One person pulls loop end of cable, while second person pushes trunk button. Or one person with reallllly long arms .
