mechanic overview of my 1993 300D, worth the 100 bucks??
i recently stopped at a place in central jersey and asked if they could go over my car and tell me what i need to replace, what i will need to replace soon, etc...
they told me $100 and they will look over the entire car...i doubt that they will get into it in much detail, as i would like, but is it worth it? i know that my suspension may need some new parts, car has 95,000 miles on it, 35,000 on weitec springs, smaller pads, and koni shocks-struts...ride seems a bit rough... also...my car only gets about 320 miles to the tank...VERY LOW for a deisel...i have been told that i have a bad injector...i doubt that one bad injector would cause such a low mileage on my car... i have a couple of engine mods...if you can call them enging mods...i have a K&N air filter, and a no name muffler welded on right in place of the stock muffler, still have all the other OEM piping and such...whats the deal with that??? thanks in advance... Check out Peter at A1 German in Piscataway on Wilton Ave, off South Ave. (732) 968-0037. That guy on RT1 looks a little shady to me, but he's always got alot of cars out front. Check out Peter, he's a great indy.

I live in NJ as well.....
Any pre-purchase inspection I ever had only ran around $50. You are taking the tech's time, usually around $75 per hour, to look at the car, but I think that $100 is a tad high.
There is also a shop in Kenvil that Turbodiesel turned me onto. I can't remember the name, but I think it is Roxbury Foreign Auto......ask for Hans, if I remember right. JCD |
