123 instrument cluster ground check

Hi,

The seatbelt light in my gaquge cluster comes on and off from time to time for no apparent reason. When cold, the glow plug light will also flicker a bit occasionally with the seat belt light, and sometimes get so bad that it makes my tachometer reading drop and act funny...

I think it is a bad ground.
I have read up on how to get the gauge cluster out, but I want to make sure... There are NO screws, etc holding it in, it is only a friction fit?
When I pop it out a bit, Ill want to change those two bulbs, as well as check the ground. Where is the ground wire?
Can I attach a new ground to something as an extra? If so, to what and attach to where?
How many grounds are there on the gauge cluster? Where do they lead to on the car?
Where are the other main grounds on the car, so I might check them as well.

Thanks, last time I tried to pop the cluster out,but couldnt -- didnt want to force it, so I just want to get 100% comfortable, which will at least give me some chance of being successful with this, the flickering of the warning lights really annoys me...

Thanks for your time

JMH
