Warped Rotor or What?????
My 1977 300D, right front wheel, tends to wobble under braking. It only occurs under medium braking when around 45-55 mph. If I stand on the brakes, no wobble. If I brake at slower speeds, or faster speeds, no wobble. If is brake lightly, no wobble.
All suspension components appear to be in good shape, but that is just via a visual check. Pads are about 6 months old. Any help is appreciated. JCD |

Best bet is to check the runout of the rotor with a dial indicator. Just pull the pads then mount the dial indicator. Zero the indicator on the lowest spot and rotate the disc. Factory spec for max runout on your car is 0.12 mm. Another thing to look for is loose suspension or steering components on that side. Ball joints, tie rod ends or even rubber bushings can allow enough play that any imperfections in the tire or other components will make wheel shake like crazy. Bad brake control rods on my w126 were my problem.
