He's hunting. He is just out to see what kind of bidding he will get in the car. He knows perfectly well what the car goes for. He sells cars for a living. I'd give him $3850 for the car right now and not much more.

At least it's not $18,000 like someone wanted sometime back.

Gosh, that's one clean rig though! My old '77 is a great car, but how much more would I love a turbo and non-servo ACC!!!
.....buuut I still wouldn't go a penny over $5k. Even despite how few W123's are out there with the 'just right' low miles (enough to be driven, not too few to sit and rot) Regards, - Ryan

Some of his previous sales:
87 560SEL with 7K miles for $24,100 76 300D with 22K miles for $13,300 84 380SE with 64K miles for $12,900 Most of the MBs he sells are under 100K miles despite age. 173K miles is way high for him. The reserve on this one might have to come down but anything's possible. Sixto 91 300SE 87 300SDL 83 300SD |

Check it out. They have a 1983 300CDT for $23k. It has 36k mi. It's light ivory and has a palomino leather interior. The car was originally sold by them and has since returned to them It was sold 3 or six years ago with 7000 mi. to the then owner and that owner sold it back to them w/ 36k mi. Must be a sweet coupe though. If it wasn't ivory I'd be willing to pay a premium for it. Not $23k but more than $10k.

Maybe I missed something....
....but in this particular auction, why are there no pictures of the engine compartment?
Seems an odd omission for a "professional" here. However, on a previous auction, said seller did have a car listed as "No Known Accidents" and when I Carfaxed the car, it listed an accident. When I queried the seller, he said it didn't seem like a big enough thing to mention, something minor, probably just replaced the bumper or something. Hmmmm! Makes me wonder what else might not be "worth mentioning." Especially with no engine pics.... Cordially, OneTwoSix |

He's in New Jersey, the home of high priced everything and way too many people with more money than brains.
I know, I live there. JCD |
