You people are killing me.
First the meet in Georgia when I couldn't go, now the pictures while I'm out of town and away from my camera. Don't you have any Christmas shopping to keep yourselves busy?
I'll post one this weekend when I get back home. Does anybody want to see the Jetta in the picture, too? We call them Big Smokey and Lil' Smokey - they're both German Racing Silver. Narwhal - send me your picture at rick_miley@bigfoot.com - I'll be happy to fix it up and send it back. |

Here we go with mine, I hope this works.
If not, then I will post links to them. Robert The Blue one is my current dailey driver, 1983 300SD. The brown is my 1980 300D, which I am about to have back on the road after a bad flex disk failure. The Tan one is my 1982 300D, which my wife drives daily. And last but not least is the very classy 1980 300SD I am buying from TCCBass (Robert Talley) ps - The Gold one I do not have as of today, but I am picking up tommorow from Robert Talley! http://home.attbi.com/~frickfamily/300SD-1.jpg http://home.attbi.com/~frickfamily/mb-1.jpg http://home.attbi.com/~frickfamily/shin-1.jpg http://home.attbi.com/~frickfamily/Blanche-1.jpg |

Here is a pic of the beloved Frau Blucher. Please disregard my wife's car in the background...it is from a country other than Germany.

Some facts:
248K miles, everything in proper working condition, recent work done includes new fan clutch and two new headlights. About to tackle the leaking O/F housing-to-block gasket. Bought her this past May with 232K on the clock and have had 16K enjoyable miles since, including a trip to Disney World over the summer. Here she is pictured a couple weeks ago in Cincinnati's first hint of winter... |
Wow... what an amazing bunch of diesels. I really want to keep mine now.... I like the owners' spirit!... too bad I haven't met anybody around here who is as enthusiastic as you guys.
oopps Peyton, didn't read that ... yeah I really can't get myself to sell it. I love driving the 500E but it doesn't have the old-world feel that the 300CD has. Amazingly... the 300CD feels just as solid as the new 500E just half as fast that's all... BTW Matt (Zoonhollis), I really like the sedan in Anthracite. Yours is really nice. Reminds me of someone's 300D-T in school. Honestly hate that color on mine.. but I'll live with it. |
