I have to replace rubbers all the time to get through the yearly technical check, hate to think what it would have cost me to replace the jointsWhat kind of tech check ?? It must be rather strick. Mercedes joints are rather cheap(for a MB) - The reason is supply and demand. Saab and Mercedes probably use identical(quality) parts in this area.
And it is no doubt very important to replace rubber once it is cracked = cheaper than replacing the whole joint!

RT, Actually I think you need to add either new springs or heat treatment for your springs when doing a complete front end job.. and the rear springs need to be done when the front ones are... to set up the geometry the car needs to be a certain distance off the ground..otherwise there is no way to set everything to specs...I think the new springs are available for about $50 each...
They also make stiffer springs for "bad road countries" which some people might want to have.... I know some states where the pot holes are not getting fixed as fast as they should be....
