Mercedesshop Forum is a fountain of knowledge
Heh heh... I got a chance to use some of the tips that I've learned from some of you on this forum... I haven't been online in a while, so I've got some catching up to do.
I don't get a chance to work on many Benzes with my current employer, but a few do roll in. I was working on a customer's M-B turbodiesel, doing an oil change and addressing a "low power" complaint. I checked and found a ton of carbon buildup in the line that feeds boost pressure to the ALDA. I cleaned out the lines and the little vacuum switchover valve (the one which is actuated by the overboost switch). There was a very nice boost in power as a result, and the customer was quite pleased. It's nice when a such a simple repair does so much for a car! |
