1982 300SD purchase

Should I get a PPI for a this car? I'm mainly concerned with compression. The car has 160,000 mi. with oil changes every 3000 mi. The car is in great condition and has been regularly maintained by MB dealer. What do you think?

Sounds like you found a great car. But remember that car is now 20 years old. Speaking from experience I would gladly pay the fee for a thorough inspection. Be sure to get a compression/ leakdown test and have the mechanic review and explain what he found.

Sounds like the car has been pretty well cared for. One thing I would just watch out for is worn suspension components. Your prospective car is around the "suspension items wearing out" mileage. Ball joints and caster joints would be the two most common items.
