300SD blower motor kaput, and no clue why
my blower motor on my 300SD just all the sudden quit working after it was working perfectly fine. I hit a speedbump, and it quit working. I checked the fuse, it was fine. Next day, started it up, blower motor worked for about 30 seconds, and then quit. I have power to the fuse, and no power to the blower. I can hear and feel the relays clicking, and the acc unit appears to be working because when i turn it to heat i can feel heat trickling out of the vents when i'm going over 60 or so. Any ideas?? thanks,
Ryan

A bit of guesswork here.
No power to the motor (measured at the motor) might be blower control switch(es) Power to the motor but no run might be bad brushes. |

... waiting for the other shoe to drop....
What was the problem? I'm curious, and it could be a good source for the database here. |

haha, sorry about that one. The problem turned out to be in my aftermarket fuse holder than i made. I ruled it out since i could hear the a/c compressor clicking on and off, but it turns out the blower motor hot wire wasn't making a good connection, and that the a/c clutch was. Wish i would have known that before i tore apart my entire center console and lower dash.....oh well live and learn.
