If you live in NYC you must have the HD. The roads here are just too bad. But if you are in subs with nice roads comfort are fine.

Well, I've heard the stock, Mercedes Blue and White box shocks are HDs... But to my current understanding, the Mercedes shock has special valving, unique to the W123. Buying a Bilstein labled shock will not match the factory setting. I could be wrong, but you can't go wrong with the blue and white box, plus, it comes with a great warantee. Sure Bilistein is the OEM, but the OE shock is the Mercedes-valved one!
