Seat Back Locks
Greetings,
I've posted a couple of pictures of the current setup of the vacuum connections at the firewall location ('83 300 cd-t). Notice the golf tee on the blue line. The previous owner had this line plugged for whatever reason. I pulled a vacuum test on this line and the seat back locks are operational. I just need to know how to connect the blue line to the vacuum supply.

I can try and remember to take a picture of my vacuum lines, and post them sometime so you can see how they connect.

I have a 81 300cd and my seat backs don't work either. But neither do my door locks.
So, are you saying that if I plug the blue line, it will solve a vacuum leak? and maybe the door locks will now work??? And your pictures did NOT post...

you should look from the front of your seats to see if all four vacuum elements (there are two in each seat) are connected to the main line (there's only one).
The main line (if I remember correctly) ... comes into the interior from the driver's side? I'm not sure of the color I have to check... I'll look at it and update you guys on this. One of mine was leaking so I plugged that element and the seat still locked with one element. I need to fix that.. Yes they are connected somehow.......

240 ed,
I'm not sure how the vacuum lines should be connected. I tried a 3way connector of the main vac. line and connected to the blue line at the firewall. Stange thing happened, the seat back locks work only after the engine was shut off. Exactly opposite of what should happen. I think there needs to be a check valve (inline) on the blue vacuum line. ??????? PS. I never could get the pictures of my set up I took, pasted to this post. Marks88

As to the images posting... Make sure you are using the "Attach file:" thing underneath the box you are writing in. (just below "Options") If you use "IMG", you have to use a URL.
