rear axle assy
So, now the parts shop doesn't have my 8mm axle assy. Anybody know where I can get one for less than the price of a trip to the Bahamas? OR--could a 12mm bolt axle be used ? I suppose all the splines and everything else is differene. BTW-it's for a '80 300CD. In jacked her up today and set the running gear in motion. The R. axle is the only thing I could see in trouble. Jumping a little as the joint tries to accomodate the angle. I did the other one a couple of months ago and Fastlane had the part then.

I got my 8mm bolt axleshafts from a local (at the time; I was down at my dad's) Carquest Auto Parts. They (I did both at the same time, to be safe) were $65 apiece, rebuilt. Been working fine thus far
Pep Boys also supposedly has them for $90 apiece, but one Pep Boys I called said that they couldn't order them, and the other said that they could order them, but that I'd have to wait longer than I was able to. Hope that helps some...good luck!
