MANN Filter quality?
Hi,
I recall a previous thread talking about Bosch now making their filters in India... In my last order fastlane order, I bought another Mann filter(PF1055/1x for a 83 300D), for next time, as I was out of stock. When I got the filter, I first noticed that the box was slightly different. So, I looked inside. I thought they used to have 'Made in Germany' tamped on the top (maybe Im wrong and dreaming that it said that), and the color of the band around the element seemed different from what I remember. I then looked on the underside of the box, and it said that the filter was made in the Czech Republic. Were Mann filters always made in the Czech republic? Has anyone noticed any quality difference with these? The filter seems well made as usual, and Im sure that they have to keep quality up being an MB OEM maker. Just curious about this... Maybe Im way off, but maybe not JMH

No, Manns used to be made in Germany. I don't know if it makes any difference, as long as the quality-control guys are on the job. They generally have to be if they're supplying to MB. If they're supplying to anybody else, who knows?
