Welcome aboard Paulo - you could possibly become our best source for low cost, good, used Euro headlights for the W123's like shown on the attached thread on Eric's wagon.
OUCH!! My car just kicked me in the A$$! What does EH&S stand for? Jim

What's the method for shipping to the USA? Is there duty or import tax on these items? Not clear how this all works.

There is usually a customs form you need to fill out when you mail stuff internationally. You can mark the form "gift" ... [edited]

Right ! I am planning on having my friend in Poland send me a 5 speed transmission and mark the form " gift "..... I am sure that won't cause any problems.....

Maybe your friend in Poland is rich and owes you a favor I would think a tranny for a 15 year old MB would have some price elasticity anyway, so who's to really question a gift of a 5 speed tranny. I wonder what the shipping would cost... I would think $200 or more... but I have no idea.

I am planning on going back to Poland this summer. hopefully I will have better luck finding parts. Leathermang... where in Poland does your friend live?
As for shipping.. the best bet would be through ground shipping/boat. Its the cheapest, but it will take about 2 months to get there. |

FYI,
There are very few 123 cars left in Germany or in Western Europe in general. Most of them are in the former Eastern Europe countries such as Poland, so Poland, Czheckoslovakia, former East Germany, etc. would have salvage yards that would be much more rich with 123 and probably 124 parts. Have a great day, |
