climate control on '79 300SD

Could anyone give me some direction on removing the climate control unit from the dash? On the 123 the wood panel snaps off and the control unit can be removed like the radio if I recall correctly, but on the 116 it looks different. I could use some experienced advice before prying away on old trim parts.

Thanks for any help, Dan Stadt

there are two hidden screws that hold the wood trim panel that covers the climate control unit.you will need a small phillips and they are located just above the radio.the recesses that contain the screws are drilled upward in the wood panel along the bottom edge.remove those and the trim panel should lift off revealing the cc switch unit mounting
