I think you can buy Varta batteries at Volvo stores.

AND I have never had a better battery than a Panasonic. Purchase them at Nissan.

Batteries

I have used Optima batteries for many years (over 10) in MB Diesels as well as many farm tractors. I have never had one fail to perform beautifully. They offer many benefits the greatest of which is they do not leak. They have major power reserves and do not seem to loose a charge as do standard lead acid batteries over time. I will never buy a standard battery again. It is critical that the charging system is in good shape to handle one of these units. To fully charge up they need correct charging voltage. They are a fully sealed system, they require no maintenance, and do not damage paint and metalwork. I use the red top 800 amp units. They are worth the money - no more battery issues. If I have an electrical problem it is the alternator, voltage regulator, bad ground, left on the lights, but never the battery. I have heard that there is a battery called Orbit that is similar but I have no experiance with them.
