'82 240D Tranny
 

1st -2nd Hard shift when cold
1st -2nd Semi-hard shift when hot
2nd-3rd Firm shift cold or hot but redlines and I have to let up
to get her to shift. Does well at times when I am
driving her hard.
3rd-4th Firm shift around 55 mph

I feel that the car needs some adjusting somewhere. I have searched for 240D information but can't seem to find any specific info for them. Does my car have a bowden cable or a rod to adjust? How do I adjust the appropriate part for my specific car. I would like to decrease the shift speeds and soften up the shifting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
