300SD in for a treat!

Hey all,

Just another update on my ongoing 300SD repairs. If you'll all remember, last time was the O/F housing gasket and oil cooler lines and motor mounts. Now she's receiving a new MB windshield courtesy of some truck who threw a rock up and gave her a nice spider web right in my line of sight. Actually, this was kind of a Godsend, as the original windshield was so pitted that the wipers wouldn't even clear it anymore, just smear. Can't wait to see clearly now!!!!

I'm jealous.......

The PO of my 300D, my father, had the car repainted about 8 years before I bought it. He pulled EVERYTHING off of the car prior to the repaint.......by the dealer.....glazurite.....beautiful.

The only thing he did that I wished he hadn't done was keep the original windshield. Man.....after 26 years it is really pitted and I commute both ways looking into the sun.......If I wasn't so concerned about the paint.....any my health.....I'd try to drive behind gravel trucks consistently hoping for a rock in the windshield.

Enjoy the view.

I will say that when I put the new windshield in my '70 280SE it was like night and day! So I'm looking forward to it on the SD!
