New Seat Leathers
The wife's '83 wagen has the split rear seat and I have not been able to find replacement leather seats. Any advice. She said no to seat covers.
what about replacement carpets? Including the rear deck/3rd seat? |

Have you tried Performance Products or the dealer.

I have a copy of Performance Products' catalog for the 123 series. For a new leather rear seat cover, it will cost $850. As for new carpeting, for the entire car, including the cargo area, you're looking at another $875. Now, I find P/Ps' prices to be high for just about everything, so I would look else where. You could try www.wgautotop.com, www.4basic.com, or www.hirschauto.com.
All 3 advertise in "The Star" as having upholstery and carpet sets. The ad for Hirsch list complete interior- rear seat covers in leather for $700.

seats/carpet
Anyone ever used World Auto? I got a pamphlet from an upholstery shop that rebuilt a seat for me several years ago. Then they carried a couple grades of leather and a couple grades of carpet.

why did she say no to covers? they will look just like the car looked when it was new. they aren't just some hokey pull overs like a slip cover. grant it, they are expensive, but will last another 20 years.
i know a guy in South Carolina who stitches them himself and he is a bit cheaper. they say they look as good as original but ive never seen an example myself. let me know if you want his number. i may use him to do my front covers and put black piping along the seats. eric
