I found a used (not rebuilt) and tested pushbutton unit on ebay for $45.00.

Installed it (all of 3 minutes) and everything works GREAT!!!

I waited till now to post, since it has been so erradic, but everything and I mean EVERYTHING is working fine.
I have vents that have never opened opening, and ones that never stayed closed closing.
Also, the Defrost mode goes to 'High' blower setting when it always (since I have owned it) kept with whatever setting I had it on.

Well, this is one good-feeling fix!

I went with DieselDaddy's idea and bought a used CCU from a guy on this forum, good price I might add, and it solved the problem! Woo Hoo!
