Starting fluid
Starting fluid is safe to use in an engine as long as it has no glow plugs or intake heater. Also, use it in very small amounts!
My 6-71 Detroit requires a shot to start in temps under 40 degrees. Hope this helps, Jeff

Well, finally someone mentioned the safety reason...
mechmagcn said the magic words " INTAKE HEATER " .... you must know which kind of system you are dealing with... Otherwise an EXPLOSION is what you are looking at... It should be easy to get all sorts of information about that truck... the Army is famous for its manuals...try Ebay .... |
