Larry I'm sure of you made him a decent offer he'd consider it. His e-mail is on the website with the Duece and all of his other vehicles.

Thumbs up Starting fluid

Starting fluid is safe to use in an engine as long as it has no glow plugs or intake heater. Also, use it in very small amounts!
My 6-71 Detroit requires a shot to start in temps under 40 degrees.
Hope this helps, Jeff

gas soaked rag

I'm a fire Captain in CA. The gas soaked rag is asking for trouble, accident waiting to happen.
We go to accidents like that all the time.
We use starting fluid on our old fork lift, been doing it for years with no ill effects. We just spray alittle near intake of air cleaner. just alike will do lt.

Well, finally someone mentioned the safety reason...

mechmagcn said the magic words " INTAKE HEATER " .... you must know which kind of system you are dealing with...

Otherwise an EXPLOSION is what you are looking at...

It should be easy to get all sorts of information about that truck... the Army is famous for its manuals...try Ebay ....
