New man on the diesel block 300 TD help
I would like to introduce myself before I ask for assistance.
New to the '82 300 TD world. I bought it on a whim cause I always likes the wagon and Car& Driver once had a story on customizing a 300 - very cool I cant tell you much because some one dontated it and I found it Tach does not work , spedometer needs help too fuel guage jumps a whole lot Inerior is very clean. Being a midwest car she has some cancer but not alot Just adjusted the valves- about to test compression just got fuel line to replace those running from injector to injector. Symptoms: WEAK ACCELERATION White smoke but not really bad after she warms up. I am sure the transmission needs work Thinkn bout ( dreaming of a 5 speed in there )manual trans instead of putting bucks into an auto rebuild Now- vacuum leaks off the brake booster line- Ordered that yesterday with all the fuel and oil filters- On the first vacuum line off the brake booster has a 3 way split and one line goes down to another 2 way split - Where does that line go to?????- it is just hanging with nothing to attach that I can see Major oil in the air filter so I figure she has high mileage Been scopeing with the search button - printed off 30 pages so far. great board - so glad I found it Appreciate any and all help Peace all Nib 82 300TD 63 Series II A Landy 72 FJ55 Landcruiser 85 BJ60 Landcruiser 88 BMW 535is 90 Cherokee

If that oil is towards the inside of the air filter it may just take a new $30 vacuum diaphram ( pretty easy job) to fix..... I loved my 1981 wagon....
