Body trim removal?
The black/chrome rubber strip on my passenger front fender as well as the bottom rear door trim need to be replaced as they are damaged. How do I remove them? They are fairly inexpensive but I sure don't want to damage anything else removing them. Thanks, RT

The strips that run along the middle of the fender and doors (I assume that's what you are talking about) are held in by press fittings. The strip has male fittings that hold to against the fender with plastic retainers inserted into holes in the metal. You should be able to wiggle and pry the strips off without damaging the metal, just be gentle. If the strip is damaged try grabbing it with pliers and gently pull it away from the car while wiggling it a bit. If you need to pry it start at an end and use a small flat screwdriver that you lever off a block of soft wood you hold against the fender. Be very careful that the end of the screwdriver doesn't scrape the paint as you work under the trim piece. When I've done this I sometimes try to slide a piece of stiff plastic (like a cut off top of a tennis ball can) between the paint and screwdriver so I don't accidentially scratch it. NEVER lever off a painted surface, only against the wood block. When you replace the rub strip you should also replace the plastic inserts that go in the fender holes. Go slow and you shouldn't have a problem
