Question 1985 300D dieseling problem

I have an 85 -300D that is constantly dieseling. I have had it in the shop several times. It runs ok for about 2 months and them goes back to the same old thing. I would like to repair my self. The injectors have been cleaned as well as a strong injector pump. I have 240K on the engine. Good conpression also. Any ideals?

I'm sorry, but I don't know what you are saying. This is a diesel engine it is supposed to diesel. Can you state your symptoms in more specific terms?

Good luck,

By "dieseling" I assume you mean that the engine runs on for a few seconds after you shut it off. If this is in fact the case, you have a vacuum leak somewhere and need to pinpoint the source.

to start

Open the hood in the straight up position and perform a visual inspection of the area where all the vacuum lines run beside the brake booster. Look to see if there are any loose ends and hoses for them to fit in. You sounds like you have a vacuum leak. Do a search on "mighty vac" portable vacuum pump used for just this purpose.
