Smile 21,000 miles on biofuel

Hi folks,

Thanks for the hempcar link--it's one I have not checked out yet. I've just completed 21,000 miles on 100% biofuel in my 82 300D, with very few troubles. It's really growing here in northern CA, with more and more people around the country making the switch from petrol to veggie oil!

This would be much harder for those who have very cold winters--but in warmer months it's great stuff.

Cost of Biodiesel

BioDougsel,
Are you making your own biodiesel? How much is it costing you per gallon to produce?

Anyone else here using biofuel in your Benz?

Hi all,

Love the hempcar site. I bought my '81 300D expressly to convert to biofuel use - I'm using Justin Carven's GreaseCar conversion kit (www.greasecar.com). I would love to share experiences with anyone else undertaking similar mods. I opted for the greasecar-style mods to avoid having to play with lye and methanol all the time... I plan to make small batches of biodiesel as a warm-up / flush fuel only.

Cheers,
Andy Evans

Come on , nobody smells the exhaust, Hemp as nothing that gets people stoned in it. Hemp is just a plant that has over 25.000 uses and counting

*BMW is experimenting with hemp materials in automobiles as part of an effort to make cars more recyclable.

*. Most paints, resins, shellacs, and varnishes used to be made out of linseed (from flax) and hemp oils.

*Rudolph Diesel designed his engine to run on hemp oil.

*Construction products such as medium density fiber board, oriented strand board, and even beams, studs and posts could be made out of hemp. Because of hemp's long fibers, the products will be stronger and/or lighter than those made from wood.

*Hemp can yield 3-8 dry tons of fiber per acre. This is four times what an average forest can yield.
just to name a few

Is that officer drawing a line on the pavement for the driver to walk or for the car to drive?
