box next to cruise amp

I was poking around under the dash today noticed that something was not hooking up. Car as been running great but the cruise doesnt work. the reason i was under the dash in the first place. Anyway I found this gray plastic box not hooked up. I took it out to inspect. It has the becker label on the top and a mb part number on the side. does anyone know what this is. it makes a clicking noise like a turning flasher.
thanks for listening. Cooty

Where exactly was it?

When I was under my dash trying to find out what was up with the cruise control, I came across a box that wasn't plugged in. It was closer to the driver's seat than the CC amp, and was up by the E-brake release handle, I believe. Turned out to be a factory alarm; I plugged it in and the car started beeping! I closed the door, made sure it was unlocked, and re-opened it, and no beeping. I left it plugged in, but now I can't open the trunk unless the alarm's been disabled (you have to unlock the driver's or front passenger's door with the main key) without setting it off.

Hope that might help some...good luck!
