Prechamber Tools Loan

Anyone have the special tools to tighten the locking cap/bolt (whatever it's called) and the tool for removing a prechamber that I can borrow.

I'll gladly send a check or whatever, as security on the tool and pay whatever shipping costs there might be. Heck I'll even throw in enough for a 6 pack if that helps seal the deal (no pun intended)! I just can't afford $60.00 for two tools that I will hopefully never need again.

Other option is a good source to buy these tools or is this a dealer only item?

Thanks

Try Performance Products - they either sell or rent this stuff. Do a search on the internet looking for their name.

Sorry, I loaned them to someone here over a year ago, and haven't seen them since. I guess I'm too trusting.

Unless the person has changed their moniker, they no longer post here.

Best of luck,

Sorry to hear Larry. That's a real drag!!!
I hate it when people do that kind of thing especially when you are only trying to help.
I won't ask again...

Fisherman,

There's no need not to ask. I hope I did not sound as if I were taking it out on you. I'm quite confident that there are very few if any of our mercedesshop siblings that would do this. I expect that he is long gone.

I would probably do it again, but I might ask a few more questions first.

I'm sorry if it sounded like I was coming down on you.

Have a great day,

Not at all Larry.

I did not take it personally.
It could just as easily have been me that did the loaning.
It really irks me to have something like that happen to me or even someone else, whether or not I know you personally...

Love to run into them at a GTG!!!!

Is it realistic to expect that the prechambers will come out with these tools? I was told that it's a pain to pull prechambers from a head in the luxury of a machine shop bench.

Sometimes it is nice to have something still bolted to something solid... like the block....LOL
But this may come down to which of the tools you use... the cheaper tool which uses your impact puller... if you have a really stuck one .... may be really unpleasant..
But the other tool ... the one that retails for $325.... but uses screw threads ...... will probably make any chamber easy to pull out...

leathermang, weren't you asking for dimensions so you could make a prechamber puller? Why don't you rent one from Performance Products and then copy it? You could then rent it out to shop members to recover the costs. I'd get involved, but have no use for it at the moment.

Because I am cheap ? I also figured that I could pull the injectors off the engine in my yard and measure the threads on them.... and use that to make the puller....but if someone had the correct dimensions I could skip that step.... I am planning on making all the special tools I can.... and some of my own design also... but lots of things get in the way schedule wise on a farm...
