While taking the 300CD in for

servicing at my independent mechanic, I noticed that one of the guys (Mr. Sing, a Vietnamese who does incredible diagnoses by EAR)was working on an ML, which I have heard have LOTS of problems.

I asked Mr. Sing if the MLs were bad cars.

"Not for us!" was his response.

The CD got its detailed "shave, shine and haircut" for under $100.

Hey!!

Easy on the jeeps! Not even including the contribution during WWII, jeeps are probably one of the few american vehicles to hold up like these MB's. Maybe you meant Chrysler=ML=Jeep. Granted no 'real' jeeps were built after 1986 when Chrysler took over. ML= TJ or YJ I would accept (hence the new Liberty), but easy on the CJ's and earlier. Mine has over 200,000 miles on it ( almost no highway and a lot of off-road) and still goes strong and looks good. I'll take on an ML any day off-road. God help us if Chrysler does to MB what it did to Jeep. In my opinion, buying a truck from a passenger car company isn't so smart anyway. It's like complaining that the caviar at the HessMart isn't salty enough. BTW, as a result of the Daimler-Chrysler arrangement, the Jeep Liberty will soon be available with a 4.0L diesel. That will be a great truck.
