W126 Gear selector sounds/feels loose
1986 300SDL gear selector sounds and feels loose. Not sure where to begin looking. Any ideas?

Probably the plastic bushings in the rod between the bottom of the shift lever and the transmission are worn. Might not even be there anymore.
Do a search on shift rod bushings. Not too difficult on a W126. Sixto 91 300SE 87 300SDL 83 300SD |

It was the shift rod bushings. Replaced the ones on the SD last weekend. Will be doing the SDL this weekend. Thanks!
