Man run over in Diesel wants revenge SAAB vs MERCEDES?

What are the merits of the SAAB 9000 vice Mercedes, 1990 years?
Today I was run off the road in my 240D with my family in it by a smart ass kid driving an Audi. I literally had to pull bushes out of my Grille.
I always had the idea of putting a Turbo V8 in my 240D.
Believe me I love my Mercedes Diesels but I am tired of getting my A__ kicked by smart a__ kids driving their parents Maxima's and Acuras and Accords and trying to run me off the road.
I will always stand by my 240D loyally.
But I want Payback. I'm still young. I'm tired of someone with a $30,000 car flexing his or her wallet.

I cant find a Mercedes sports car like the 240D. Many people are pointing me to the SAAB 9000 as a car that can bought for less than 2 grand and can be modified , and still look dignified like a Mercedes. I would like to overhaul the engine and boost it to 270 HP.
The next time some kid does this to me, i am going to chase him to his rich Dads house and drain his oil.

Just fun

Off the web:

I used to work for SAAB - I'd probably get killed if my identity was uncovered
for letting you know this, but I feel I must stand up and take the risk: SAAB
is owned by Volvo. Volvo only allows the visually-impaired exterior designers to
work for SAAB. I really don't like letting you down like this, but I feel
loyalty to truth and dedication to eliminating ignorance - where possible.

After 3 900's I think that 270hp will mean that you are living on the edge with a SAAB, you are going to have bad torque steer, hell i noticed it just upping the boost on my 900's from 8-9 to 13 psi. Also SAAB's do not have the most robust transmissions, the 5 speed needs a light touch with 170hp, 270 is asking for trouble. Start looking for another RX-7.

Wow, you got some real jerks in your area. I drive a 300D-T, which I drive pretty slow, and have never really experienced that problem. What about just picking up a 300E or 320E? I used to own Saabs, and they are pretty nice, but they are definitely high, high maintenance cars. Despite that fact, I always felt like it was worth it because of the comfort, handling and speed. Also might want to consider a turbo Volvo 940 ('92-'95), which are more modern than a 9000, and significantly easier to work on (small 4 cylinder, rear wheel drive).

why not a 190E 2.3 16V.? or a 400E? or a 500SEL?

and i love my saabs. Yes torque steer sucks, but they are great in the snow and actually get close to 30 miles to the gallon. Saab is owned by GM, not volvo. (not that GM is any better). i personally think that volvos are by far the uglier of the two.

and nothing beats the comfort of the seats in a 9000 AERO, which come with 215hp from the factory. you can burn all the kids with that....

Here you go

Want something that no one will run you off the road with? A 560SEL or a 420SEL. If gas hurts you too much, maybe a 300E, 190E 2.6, 190E 2.3, or 190E 2.3-16V are all pretty quick. A 560SEL will easily burn almost all cars at the 90+ mph range, being a severe autobahn cruiser. Black on black 560SEL...no one messes :-)

Well, many of these Honda driving kids think their cars are so fast, but everytime they race they lose. So now that they found something (other than loaded semis) that is actually slower than their Honduh, they are just trying to make themselves feel good, unfortunately at your cost....

I don't know what you could really do to keep the fuel mileage about the same while getting much more power or sacrificing the motor's life. Myself, I like my 300Ds because they are comfortable, not just another car on the road, and get good fuel mileage. I don't care that they aren't very quick cars. Even though I could put a MBC on the 300Ds, I really doubt I will. Also I wouldn't be interested in having a V8 in my old 300Ds. If I want to go fast, I'll drive my Talon. Time to get a new project RX7, 3G.

Find an 87 300D -- that will at least let you get out of the way with style. Won't go as fast, but significantly more spritely than a 240D.
