I 'm off to FL until March. Sure will miss all you MB guys but I don't have a laptop computer to take along.

Taking the old '79 300SD. Wish me luck.

Doesn't Florida have LIBRARIES ? Like with internet access ? you could check in every couple of weeks... you don't want to get two months behind on what is said.. you would never catch up...

WAIT! Wait! wait!

You can't go on vacation! I'm about to change the IP on my daughters car and might need some guidance. Who approved your vacation anyway? That form didn't come across my desk!

Seriously though, be safe and have a great time.

Find those libraries along the way to keep us informed.

Good luck,

Where in Florida?

You know there are members in Florida who might like to see you! Heck, they might even let you use a computer. I have three and am about to acquire another one. During the time you're here I'll be in Tampa, Tallahassee, and possibly Ft. Lauderdale.

Those Florida people are going to talk differently from you.

They will probably not understand if you ask in the store for "Engine Oil".

I think they call it "Motor Oil" down there or some such foolishness.

Have a great trip!

Leathermang,

I got home last night (SAT) from New Orleans with no problems with the old 300SD except 1 bad tire. Not a flat but a tread separation. The rubber didn't come off the tire yet, but it really started vibrating. So I stopped and changed the tire. It was one of those wonderful Michlins. I have had more Michlins fail than any other brand. I was now down to 2 spares so that was no problem. I carry a set of studded winter tires along in case I run into a snow storm on the way home to PA.

The thing I wanted to thank you for was the idea about the computer in the library. I found a library in Kissemmee FL that let anyone use their computer 1 hour each day. I got a very important message that I wouldn't have received had I not gone and checked my e-mail.

So thank you very much for library idea. One never knows what type of useful information one might get on this website.

Ken300D,

I found some Castrol Syntec Engine oil at Kmart in KIssimmee FL for $4.00 a quart and I didn't have any trouble purchasing it.
