Keys ?
 

Does anyone know where in New Jersey I can get an extra key made for my 1983 300SD. I went to the local MB dealer, they sent me to a locksmith and he told me that I needed a laser cut key requiring a special machine. Any suggestions I am down to one key. Thank you

If the locks are original you can order a new key from the dealer if you give him the VIN number and show him the registration to prove ownership. I also had a laser cut key made locally (which won't help you much) which I found by looking in the yellow pages under safes and locks. The local hardware store won't be able to do it but a good locksmith should. In my case the dealer key was the same cost as the copy, about $30. By the way, they don't actually use a laser.
