Wiring low beams into high beams
Just wondering, has anyone wired the headlights so that the low beams stay on when the high beams are on, while the "stick" is pushed forward? I know the low beams stay on if you pull the stick back for a momentary flash. If so, how exactly did you go about doing it?
Is there any detriment to the low beams staying on with the high beams long-term? Seems to me that it helps with vision...dunno what it would do to the wiring or th bulb longevity, though. Thanks! I still want the H4 conversion kit, though

I expect that the added heat within the lamp and the added current in the headlight circuit would eventually cause problems.
Good luck, |

Warden,
After a long debate I put Hella E-codes in my 300D. Once they are aimed correctly you will wonder why you waited so long to convert. I am only running the standard 55/60watt bulbs and they provide plenty of light IMHO. Best $80 I have spent. RT

Warden,
I would think it would shorten the life of the bulbs because of the extra heat generated. Also, if you just wired them together, you might not be able to use the low beams alone. P E H |

Heat wasn't something I was thinking about...which is why I asked. Thanks! I think that it could be done without making the low beams work by themselves (that's what diodes are for ), but, again, I hadn't considered the thought of heat shortening bulb life...
I want to do the E-code conversion (that was what I meant earlier), but don't have $80 to burn right now |
