On Performance Products it lets me order a hood star for an 84 Mercedes 300SD but when i try and order one for my 84 Mercedes 300DT it won't let me.

Aren't theses the same part? or interchangable? I think they would be but maybe I'm wrong.........because otherwise I'm going to order one and see if it will fit my 300DT.....oh and the part # is 88012

Order the hood star from FastLane, they have good customer service. I am going to stop buying parts from Performance Parts, and order them all from FastLane and PartsShop. I can't find the parts I am looking for half the time on Performance Products web site, and they have poor customer service.

Steve, just as a heads up, when you do get the new star, the base will be a bit smaller than the original. MB is substituting the hood stars with those that were used on the 190 cars. The hoodstar I got had a part number that started with 201 (190 series). When I called to question it, I was told that MB was phasing out the orignal part number. Of course with it in place, only I would notice the minor difference.
