Lightbulb Just something I've noticed

I was taking off from a stop light a little agressively, let up on the throttle and then re-floored it real fast. All this within the first 20 feet or so. It SEEMED that when I hit the throttle the second time, the engine came on real strong. Can't decide weather it's just because the car was already rolling, or if it's just my imagination, or what. I've since tried it several times, with the same sensation. It just seems to pull harder than when I keep a steady throttle.
Any ideas? Or should I just stop smoking crack?

Rick, you should stop smoking crack...

I think you are right about about the engine coming on really strong when you hit the throttle for the second time, since I have noticed the same thing.

You're probably just catching your turbo spooling up and when you hit the throttle the second time it "feels" like you just lit off a rocket due to the acceleration, then lack of, then full on again..

Very scientific explanation here. I guess maybe I should stay out of this one...

Yeh, I've been trying to decide if it's just an allusion. Hard to tell if it's what I think it is. Need to take her to the drag strip and run the quarter mile a few times I guess I'll take a calender with me to time it by

Really want to feel good?

Tell me when and where and I'll bring the 240 up.. Man you guys will be smoking next to me!!!!!!!!!!

BTW Eric - I just finsihed helping a guy put an 85 turbo engine and tranny into his '79 CD. We even moved over all the instruments, heater parts, and under dash parts. What a project!!

He says he's now looking for a daily driver! I can't believe this guy... With a fully rebuilt motor and an '85 tranny he is concerned this may not be a daily driver...

Oh well...
