Brake light is blinking when throttling...?

When I took my 84 300D out to Home Depot to pick up some stuff, the brake light began to flicker. Now this was happening NOT when I was braking but when I was throttling, what could be the matter? Thanks.

The red brake light tells you 2 things.
The parking brake is set
The brake fluid level of the master cylinder is low. One of your sections of the master cylinder has become low enough to turn the warning light on. OR you have a fault in the fluid level circuit.

Does the brake warning light only indicate low level (and that the E-brake's set)? I ask 'cause on my truck, the brake light can also indicate a vacuum problem...just a thought

dmorrison, does the circuit become faulty if it is wet? If my fluid level is ok, then that would be the problem, somewhere in the circuitry.

If your'e brake fluid is ok, then check the two little float switches located on top of the master cylinder resovoir (spell?). You can temporarily disconnect them to see if that solves the problem. If not, something is amiss in the wiring harness or the parking brake switch up under the dash.
