Turbo hookup / boost question
On my motor the line goes directly from the manifold to the ALDA. When pointing this out to a couple of different diesel mechanic types, they have said it is setup perfectly. That they in many cases pull the switchover valve as it lags the boost. Therefore my turbo boost switch is also disconnected.
To me it doesn't sound or feel right. Any advice appreciated. Don |

Bigred,
The way I see it you have three options: 1) Leave it be. Chances are nothing will ever happen to your turbo to cause it to overboost, usually if a turbo/wastegate gets flakey it will not produce enough boost. 2) Find a valve in a boneyard, figure out how its wired and intall it. 3) Install a boost gauge so you can monitor what the turbo is doing. I like the 15psi version of this one: http://www.dieselpage.com/issev2.htm RT
