1985 300D Price?
 

I saw a 1985 300D today and the sign on the front window said $1700 OBO.

Any thoughts?

Says it runs good. I didn't stop to check the milage but the car looked ok from the street.

After I get an idea of whereit shoud be priced I might make an offer. Any help appreciated.

It's a good deal IF everything works right (ac, trans, etc.). Take it for a drive and check it out, my bet is that it has a problem of some sort or they think it does (could be an easy fix too).

Yes, by all means, take it for a test drive. Make sure it shifts smoothly. Check the trans fluid (color, smell, etc.) How many miles are on it? After you check it out, let us know?

BTW, when you take it for a test drive make sure you get up some speed to check the turbo out.

Well, I know that a 1984 300D with 125K miles and good shape
is worth $3900.

Hi all.

I will test drive the car this weekend if time allows. I spoke with the owner and found out the following:

236,000 miles
The battery light stays on (electrical problem).
A few of the windows do not work.
Engine mounts are shot.
He says he just replaced the AC with a new unit.

Kelley Blue Book says $1100.00 for fair condition, $0.00 for poor. Sounds like somewhere inbetween is the right price. I will keep you posted.

$1,100 would be a good place to start, since the AC has been repaired one of the most expensive repairs has already been done.

Looking at a local classified, there are two 1984 300TD.
One for $4000 /BO and one for $2300 'very good cond".

as per text, no viual

probably fair to good cond.
