Waxing and caressing
Hi all,
I wanted to tap one of those eternal questions that do not ever seem to go away. What kind of wax do people use so that the beloved MB caresses driver's senses? All kidding aside is the wax brand name/type/etc. just a matter of personal preference ? Or maybe in the world of waxes there are the "synthetic ones", some late hi-tec stuff with superior qualities. Also, is it necessary to differentiate between older MB with seasoned skin (softer treatment maybe?) and late shiny super marvelous Benzes. I do not recall reading anything from the popular "Old MB's use to be much better" in regards to the paint job quality. Thank you. |

Check out the "detailing forum"...lots of info there, and in the archives - search for wax.

my experience
On my old 84 with pastel'ish paint I use american made zymol. It seems to feed the paint nicely. Slow and a PITA to apply.
For my metallic clear coat, I use the one grand, and it is way easier to apply and works really well.

Get A clay bar..........
I tried one on my 1980 300d & WOW! I takes all the little bumps off the paint and makes it smooth as glass!! The best $10.00 I spent on a car cleaner/wax product. I bought the Clay Magic brand. GOD BLESS Matt (SD,CA)

I have tried many different brands of wax and have settled on Liquid Glass. It goes on easy, comes off easy, and leaves a tremendous shine. My father turned me on to this brand about a year ago when he bought his 500SL. He uses this wax on all three of his Mercedes and I use it one mine.
