Well, my mechanic has agreed to make a house call, bless her little three point heart. I'll let you know what she has to say about the parts car.

In the meantime, I had a question about valve clearances. My husband followed the instruction on the service CD for the 126 chassis (we had a 126 previously). It is the same motor, but on the service CD it says to set the intake clearance to 0.15mm, so that's what he did. Later, when he was looking through the owners manual for the wagon, it stated the valve clearance should be 0.10. Never thought that info would be in the owners manaul.

Would this make any difference? They are all set ot 0.15mm now.

Also..rodent+eaten hole in air cleaner+turbo = ouch.....
