Trunk Lining Removal...

Does anyone know how to remove the left side trunk liner in a 123? It's very hard.... BTW, what is that silver metal pipe that runs along side the fender? It's attached to the sunroof motor. Thanks!

It's not that hard to remove the trunk liner on a W123, but make sure you wear some gloves when you do it. I think there a small clip you need to remove somewhere, and you need to remove the panel in front of the gas tank. Then you just need to move the panel around and pop it out, this is where gloves can be nice.

The metal pipe attached to the sunroof motor is the pipe in which the cable slides into when you open your roof. The motor gear pulls the cable towards the rear of the car when you open the roof, the cable is pulled into the pipe. When you close the roof, the motor pushes the cable back towards the front of the car, out of the pipe.
