Valve clearances.... 126 vs 123

Hi, I posted this question at the bottom of another thread, but it's getting a little buried.

We have the service CD's for a 126 vehicle we owned previously. We now have a 123 300TD. Since it is the same motor, we used the CD as a guideline for setting the valve clearances. It says set the intake to 0.15mm. Later, when looking through the owners manual for the 300TD, it says to set teh intake to 0.10 mm. They were all set to 0.15mm.

Will this make any difference? The adjustment didn't improve the condition of the car, but it does have multiple problems (see other threads).

Thanks!

I think the clearances shouldn't be different between the 300SD and the 300TD. They are both basically the same engine. I think the clearance for my 1979 300CD is .004" for the intake and .012" for the exhaust. Converted this would be .10mm for intake and roughly .25mm for exhaust...
I hope this helps

jassz - like 123c said there is a difference between the turbo and non-turbo engine. If memory serves me correctly the .10 mm is correct for the turbo engine intake valves.
