The light rings look good...are you satisfied with the product? How long have they been in place?

I've had the light rings in place since about 9/99. They're holding up just fine. Just so you know, they're chrome plated PLASTIC. I was disappointed when I took them out of the box and realized that, but they seem to be doing fine. Nobody walks up to them, taps them with their finger, and says "Eeeew, plastic!"

Michakavali - your E300 is brilliant silver just like mine. Love the tint job. My tint is reflective silver, but doesn't show up that way in pictures. Same tint on Lil' Smokey - the Jetta.

Thanks for the ring response.

Since at least two people here have tinted the windows, I've another question. Did the metal tint harm your radio reception (AM/FM) as greatly as it did on my e300td?

Yesterday I installed an AM/FM through the glass antenna, after creating a footprint (hole) in the rear window tint. I was certain it would have to be an improvement. Waste neither you time nor you money. It doesn't work for beans.

I don't know if it's because of the metallic tint, but I have absolutely zero AM radio reception. FM works fine, as does my CD changer, so I never bothered with the AM. My hand-held cell phone works fine inside the car, even though Mercedes says I shouldn't use it and I should buy the $1500 version.

The rings I installed a few weeks ago. I was as well first dissappointed that the rings were plastic, but they appear to be a solid plastic and well plated with chrome. I never listen to the radio so I can't comment on the reception...

I've got the smoke silver. On the newer models it's refered to as Desert Silver :-)

Either way it's silver and look's HOT tinted :-)

I had it done at PJ's on Arch Street in New Britain. I'll take a picture of the sticker they put on at the bottom of my rear window. It's the the telephone and other good stuff....

New Britain

I didn't notice your location until you mentioned New Britain. I lived there from 10/01 through 3/02 at the Fairway Apartments. I was working on a contract for ESPN. Didn't have the E300 with me though, I took the Jetta. I had to do the rear brakes on it last summer and was amazed at the amount of corrosion caused by just one (relatively mild) winter of salt exposure. Sure glad I did that last winter and not this one!

BTW, it looks like the car pictured in PJ's sticker doesn't have tinted windows. I found that pretty funny.
