Injection nozzle leak
I am new to the diesel game, and need help.
I have a fuel leak in the injection nozzle area of the last injection nozzle or two. Could it be the "return lines"? the return for the last line should have a cap of some kind right? What does this look like? Can I drive the car for now? Thank you for your help 1985 300d

That does sound like a return line. There is actually supposed to be a plug in the line coming off of the rearmost injector. It's small and metal...the first tiem I looked, I couldn't really see it.
Actually, now that you say it, that reminds me...I need to replace my return lines.

That sounds like the return lines, not very uncommon for those to go. My 83 had them replaced by the p/o, I just had to replace them on the 84 as they were starting to sweat the diesel through the sidewalls. It is up to you if you want to drive it or not, just think that is raw fuel spraying on a hot motor. I realized my leak in the 84 after I seen the fog from diesel fuel evaporating off of the hot motor, soon afterwards I just let the car be until the parts came in. Why risk a fire if you don't have to?

Quick question, what's the ID size on the return line hoses?
I remember getting a piece for my end at a Napa out in west Texas, but can't remember the size...it's still working like a charm, though! It's also real rubber, not the cloth braid like you get from the dealer...I think it's also an SAE size, but it fit the nipple and the plug tightly. I should have done it all, but the other lines were okay enough that I didn't think about it 'till I was about 100 miles away  ...

I'm not sure I just ordered the 'looping return line', well I'm sure this is also real rubber but they put the braiding on it for longer life.

injection nozzle leak
Say guys, when you replace the injector rubber hoses, is it advised that you use adhesive to make it leak proof. James

I've had good success with 1/8 fuel line from the kind Chevy dealer up the street.

No adhesive needed, it just seems that way sometimes pulling it off.
 I had to gently slice the line a couple times inorder to yank it off.
