Fan Belts Question

I feel like a real dork brain asking this but I have a very short time frame to work within. My 83 300D needs to have all 4 belts replaced. Is there anything weird about loosening up the alternator or other things that I should know about? I'm putting two belts where it's setup for two. I have to do this as a near rush job in the morning and don't need any surprises. Belts were purchased from Performance Products about a year ago and I'm sure they are the right ones. Thanks.

Yuck - this is not a fun job. You may need to remove the fan & clutch to get the belts on & off. Finding *all* the bolts that need to be loosened is kind of a pain, especially on the A/C compressor. Each item has a threaded tensioner, but to avoid damaging it the mounting & pivot bolts need to be loosened. Not sure what else to say, but don't rush the job - and don't over-tighten the belts!

Good luck,
