first drive in a while
My 300SD has been sitting a while since ive been at school. I charged the battery today and it started up fine. There was a lot of smoke for a couple minutes then it was ok. I drove the car for a bit to warm it up to its normal temp 80c then i started pushing it. When I got home it was up at around 100c which is hot for my car and there was a bit of smoke comming from the drivers side of the engine bay. I couldn't tell exaclty where it was comming from. The car is an 83 300SD. What should i be checking. thanks.

Exact same thing happened to me (in my oil leak thread). Turns out I was an idiot and had the breather tube disconnected and the crankcase pressure was building up (causing the abnormal heating, although mine never reached 100) and oil being forced up from the air filter/oil separator oil drain tube. I hope that's all it is for you.
