300SD work day
Finally got around to attending to a few needed replacements on my '83 300SD. Put on a new steering shock and changed the right side motor mount (I put the left one in 3K miles ago). She was also spot on due for an oil change so she was treated to some fresh Agip 10W-40. Since we're taking her on a cross-country trip to California in May I did an inspection of things that would need to be done before we go. I found that the trans cooler hoses are beginning to show signs of aging along with the front brake hoses, but I always just change all four brake hoses to be safe. I'm getting some noise from the caster joints too so those will be done along with tie rods, drag link and an alignment. While I'm stuck underneath I'll probably change out the rear sway bar links as well. That should put her in good nick for a 5,000+ mile trip!

Man, I wish you were my neighbor
Sounds like you're going to have a fun trip. Hopefully diesel fuel prices keep dropping.
